Overview

KSAs, or Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, are a collection of specialized skills and character traits required for a certain position. These are the distinct qualities that the recruiting company is looking for in the candidate chosen to fill a certain position. KSAs are mostly used to assess the characteristics that will distinguish one applicant from the others. KSAs are described as the criteria that separate the better applicants from a group of people who are generally competent for a post in federal personnel advice. Whether a candidate is given serious consideration for the post depends on how well they can demonstrate that they meet the KSAs that have been established for the role.
