Conduct a SWOT analysis on your chosen firm and present your results. What competitive advantages does your organization have? What possibilities exist in the industry that your organization can take advantage of? Who are your competitors, and what kinds of dangers do they pose? What weaknesses could your organization strengthen in order to compete with its most powerful competitors?
Determine strategic choices that provide value to the firm. Which are focused on internal growth, and what do they bring to the table? What are the disadvantages of these approaches? Which ones are focused on external expansion, and what do they bring to the table? What are the disadvantages of these approaches?
How would you utilize a decision matrix to choose the best option? Explain how you arrived at the values you used to differentiate between each choice. What, if anything, in the matrix may be limiting in its utility to an analyst or decision maker?
What elements can jeopardize the effectiveness of the best strategic option identified? How can the problems you’ve discovered be addressed and resolved?
