Develop a comprehension
of addictive disorders according to the DSM-5 that includes an understanding
for how addiction affects psychological, physiological and cognitive processes.
Students will become knowledgeable of various assessment
techniques and treatment models for addictive disorders.
Students will develop a basic understanding and ability to apply
evidence based interventions as their primary technique for promoting client’s
positive change.
Identify and discuss process addictions, the accompanying
symptoms, and treatments.
Formulate a well-reasoned argument as to whether process
addictions are “real” addictions .
