Presentation 2: (more in-depth than Pres01)
Covering Units 2, 3 and 4; Chapters 5 – 9, 19, 14 & 17
1) Choose a dataset of your choice or use one from the textbook.
2) Use Unit 2, 3 and 4 topics and analyze the data
a. REQUIRED: First use Excel’s Descriptive Statistics from the Data Analysis TookPak to analyze the basic Statistics and interpret the results. What do the descriptive statistics tell you about your dataset?
b. Use 3 other statistical procedures from Units 2 and 3 and interpret the results. Be sure to choose 3 DIFFERENT TYPES of statistical procedures or analysis techniques and fully complete each to give a sensible result which you can explain to everyone. Review the topics listed below and review some of the homework problems for ideas.
3) Create Charts, Graphs, tables, etc. to help explain your data
4) Put into a Power Point Presentation – should be 5-7 minutes.
5) Write a short summary explaining your findings – you can add this to the last slide, but you do not need to read this during your presentation.
6) To achieve maximum points be sure to do the following:
a. Organize your Excel worksheets and clearly label tables and data
b. Include Chart titles, legends and format each axis
c. Label data series (ie. There should not be a reference to “series 1”, it should be the name of the data series)
d. Use complete sentences in your write-ups
